“The email address you entered is already in use.” What should I do?
We do not click on links
It sometimes happens that people ask us to click on links in email messages, or on website pages. This can occur, for example, when someone who we are being asked to contact, has email or internet security settings, that stipulate a link be clicked to verify that the contacting person is not spam, or fraud, or phishing, etc. An example of such a circumstance we have seen, is a WWOOFer asking WWOOF Japan to produce a reference document for them, to be sent to a university office by email, and the university has such security settings in place. Please be advised, that we do not do this. We do not click on links. In the event that a recipient of contact from WWOOF Japan has such security settings in place, then you and / or the recipient will need to arrange alternative means. For example in relation to the case mentioned above, the WWOOFer will need to receive the email from us, and then in turn the WWOOFer can forward it on to the university office concerned. Or by using a different email address. The same applies to links on websites. If we are asked to assist people, in a way that requires us to click on links on websites, we will not do so. We will not click on links. Thank you for your understanding.
hotmail.com, outlook.com and live.com email problems
Do you use a Microsoft’s email address such as @hotmail.com @outlook.com @live.com ?
Some of our users with those email addresses are not receiving our emails due to the filter system associated with those email addresses. If you don’t receive our email after sending your registration, please use a different email address. Or please adjust your settings to allow emails from wwoofjapan.com
I have tattoos …
No, problem. However as you mentioned, in Japan many people do not have a good image about Irezumi (tattoos), as it is a kind of a symbol indicative of being a Japanese mafia person (called ’yakuza’ in Japanese). Yet some Japanese, specially young people, do know about contemporary western fashion tattoos as well.
We have received some good feedback from hosts after they accepted WWOOFers with tattoos, such as "I was shocked to see some tattoos on the WWOOFer's arm, but she was such a warm-hearted wonderful person and helped me a lot. She made my eyes more open to the world. I hope I can see her again."
Therefore it is all up to you, to make your WWOOFing wonderful and make host families realise that a person with tattoos does not automatically equate to that person being a bad person.
