WE ARE IN URGENT NEED OF WWOOFers!
We are looking for WWOOFers to join us from early September to late October, during the grape harvest and winemaking season.

We already have one person staying for the full two months of September and October, and another staying from mid-September until early December.
A few WWOOFers who came in spring or summer are also planning to come back for harvest, saying, “We’ll be back for harvest!”

We can host up to eight people at a time — four men and four women.

The reason we want to welcome a larger team is simple: we want to reduce the burden on each person.
Rather than letting too much work fall on just a few people, we hope to share it and move through the season together.

Harvest and winemaking follow the grapes, the weather, and the movement of fermentation.
Because of that, every day will not follow the same schedule.

There may sometimes be long days, but we will balance them with shorter days and proper time to rest.
We do not want anyone to keep pushing beyond their limits. We want to support one another and move through this season as a team.

We harvest the grapes, carry them, press them, watch over the fermentation, and slowly see the wine come to life.
During the winemaking season, the days move quickly, almost like a festival.

It is busy, but it is also a very special time that comes only once a year.
We want to value not only the work, but also the time we spend together — sharing meals, talking, and sometimes enjoying a glass of wine as a team.

This autumn, come and make wine with us.

We are a small family-run winery in Chikuma, Nagano.
We grow grapes, make wine, and care deeply about both the seasonal work in the vineyard and the daily life that surrounds it.

Over the years, we have been lucky to meet many wonderful WWOOFers.
We are truly grateful for the time we have shared — working together, sitting around the table, and talking about all kinds of things.

We are already looking forward to the new people we have not yet met.

And of course, let’s enjoy some of our winery’s wine together too.

◎ [Main Activity is Cooking!] Seeking Food-Loving Travelers / WWOOFers!

【 We are NOW looking for WWOOF volunteers after July 15th. The staying period is from two weeks up to one month maximum."

Do you love cooking? Do you want to share your favorite dishes or the tastes of your hometown with others? If you have a strong passion for cooking, we would love to welcome you!

"Harappa Cafe" in Yufuin, Oita, is a community kitchen and a vibrant gathering place for locals and travelers from all over the world.

⚠️ [Please Read Before Applying] What You Will Do Here
The main activity here is cooking (kitchen work), which takes up about 80% of your time. You do not need to be a professional chef, but this position is perfect for someone who genuinely wants to be involved in cooking every day.

You Are the Head Chef: You can freely choose what to make—whether it's something you love to eat or a traditional dish from your home country—and serve it on our buffet.

The "Pay What You Want" System: Our customers decide the price based on their satisfaction (Fair Box system). Seeing empty plates and hearing "Delicious!" will be your greatest reward.

Daily Routine: On cafe business days, you will spend most of your time in the kitchen, from preparation and cooking to cleaning up. It is ideal for those who truly enjoy being in the kitchen.

🌾 Diverse Community Experiences
Beyond the cafe, we also participate in local community activities, such as helping organic farmers with their rice harvest or supporting elderly neighbors. You will experience the authentic local lifestyle that regular tourists never get to see. Vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-free food lovers are all highly welcome!

🕊 Our Philosophy
We aim to create a space that is the exact opposite of economic efficiency, profit-seeking, and competition. We hope you can step away from the competitive world, work at your own pace, and purely enjoy cooking and connecting with people.

For more details regarding our activities, accommodations, and FAQs, please be sure to check our WWOOFer Info Page before applying:
(Some sections are still under preparation, but please take a look!)

We look forward to meeting someone who wants to share a wonderful time through the joy of cooking!

WE ARE IN URGENT NEED OF WWOOFers!
Hi, I’m Miyako, the manager of the Tanba Sasayama Agristation.

What we are
The Agristation, where you’ll be working, is an independent rural café and community centre catered towards young families with a plot of farmland and some animals. On the farmland we grow sweet potatoes and black edamame, a regional delicacy. We also have a rabbit and two goats and run our own English eikaiwa (academy).

What you’ll be doing
We’ve just started WWOOF and are looking for volunteers to join us to help out in various activities to keep this place running. This is varied, but mainly consists of: cleaning the café and library, taking care of the animals, cooking, washing dishes, farmwork and assisting English lessons. Typically volunteering is about 8 hours a day, 5 days a week (Tuesday to Saturday) and up to an hour taking care of the animals for the other 2 days. Twice a month you’ll get Saturdays off.

What we provide
What we offer.
Lodging, meals, and WiFi will be provided on-site. Accommodations may be in shared rooms. (It is possible that men and women will share a room, but we will make every effort to keep it private.)
In that case, please take your own breakfast and snacks from those provided. Lunch and dinner will be provided on volunteer days. Lunch will be with other WWOOFers, while dinner will be with me and my family. On weekends, you will usually cook your own meals, but occasionally my family and I will eat at the Agri-Station! Snacks are included in the meals provided.

Opportunity for cultural immersion
My family will be on site for much of the time, so you will have an experience similar to a homestay. We appreciate the richness that cultural exchange brings, and you will spend time with our family. I would like you to teach my children English and help with childcare. Also, since the Agristation is the center of the community, you will get to see everyday faces and get to know the local community. On weekends, we sometimes go out to local temples and festivals.

Location
We are based in the beautiful and peaceful suburbs of Tamba Sasayama. It has a quaint old town built in the Edo period and a castle. The agrestation itself is surrounded by rice fields and black edamame fields, with mountains in the background. Despite the quiet surroundings, the local convenience store is only a 5-minute bike ride away, and the nearest supermarket is only 10 minutes away. Kyoto, Osaka, and Kobe are also only an hour away by car (2 hours by public transportation).

About the Hosts and Their Families
I have been running Agristation since 2017. My husband and I have a son and three daughters ranging in age from 5 to 16. We love Ghibli movies, visiting shrines and temples, and exploring new places. I want to get my children to stop watching YouTube.

I’m a fairly hands on host, so you’ll see me nearly every day, so if you need my help I’m close by.

WE ARE IN URGENT NEED OF WWOOFers!
Dear WWOOFers,

For the last 5 years, we have been working to fulfill our dream of creating a beautiful pocket in the world, filled with art, music, nature, delicious food, and laughter holding it all together.

We have built Yusu no Ki all from scratch, and everyday it is getting closer to our dream. Artists and musicians regularly pass through and stay with us, our retaurant is steadily gaining in popularity and it is all thanks to the help of WWOOF.

We want to share the music and culture of Japan with people from all over the world, and love to learn. The work we have been doing has ranged from wooden decks to exposed wood ceilings to cutting tiles and shaping glass, building furniture and shaping our home and our space to fit into the nature around us.

Our restaurant hangs over a small lazy river and we are surrounded by forest and hills on all sides.

At the moment, we are involved in trying to meld the classical Japanese style of architecture with the Grecian style, focusing on using shape and color and contrast to live in visual and physical harmony with the beauty around us.

Work here is challenging, but we are all trying to learn! Come learn and build and laugh and make mistakes with us! We are waiting to hear from you. (^o^)/
ps;Dear wwoofer,
I had an abstract and malicious comment on a woman of an American couple before and I want new women to understand this wonderful thing of Tokonomi. While ladies stay, we guarantee to live meaningfully. A woman who transmits goodness of shinobi is necessary now. To take a misunderstanding. !!

Sincerely,
“I can speak only a little English. I didn’t write this text but my ex-WWOOFers helped it for me.”If you like Japanese culture or Japanese cuisine, please come. Kousei&rieko

Would you like to experience a simple and sustainable lifestyle in rural Japan?

We live in a nature-rich area along the Sanriku Coast on the Pacific Ocean side of Iwate Prefecture. Surrounded by mountains, rivers, and the ocean (ria coastline), this is a place where you can feel the changing seasons up close and connect deeply with nature. Here, we practice a self-sufficient lifestyle by growing rice and vegetables, using renewable energy, building eco-houses, and preparing to open a small café. Our project is still developing, and we are looking for people who can enjoy this process and help us bring it to life.

Main activities during your stay:
Farming (rice fields and vegetable gardens)
Forestry (maintaining the satoyama)

Café creation

We Welcome People Who...

・Love cooking and value good food.
・Are interested in nature and sustainable living.

We are looking for people who enjoy learning, sharing, and becoming part of our small community, even for a short stay.

Urgent WWOOF Volunteer Needed! :
We are looking for a volunteer who can stay for about 3 days between August 2 and August 4.

If you're available and interested in experiencing life on a small farm in rural Japan, I'd love to hear from you!

This time, I am looking for volunteers only for this short period.
However, if you are interested in staying with us for a longer period from September onward, we usually begin with a short trial stay. After that, we can discuss extending your stay if we both feel it is a good fit.

For long-term volunteers, there will also be opportunities to experience much more than farm work, including trekking, sea kayaking, and experiencing the local culture and way of life. I hope you can enjoy the nature, community, and simple rural lifestyle here in northeastern Japan.

If you would like to experience rural Japanese life and hands-on farm work, we would love to hear from you.

During this time, there are many seasonal activities such as a “Nanohana Gathering” festival and preparations for rice planting.

If you are interested in a longer stay, we will begin with a short trial period and then discuss extending your stay after confirming that it is a good fit for both sides.
For longer stays, there may be opportunities to enjoy trekking, sea kayaking, and experiencing local culture, allowing you to engage more deeply with nature and this lifestyle. We are looking forward to meeting someone who values nature, simple living, and human connection, and who would enjoy sharing time together like a family.

Tokushima
WE ARE IN URGENT NEED OF WWOOFers!
Regenerative agriculture is gradually becoming known through the practices of companies like Patagonia, but there are still very few people practicing it in Japan.
Tsukuyomi Farm had been experimenting with techniques like no-till farming, intercropping, and organic cultivation for 20 years before the term "regenerative agriculture" even existed.
In addition to agricultural techniques, we have also expanded the regenerative mindset and conducted various experiments.
Similar to the WWOOF system, in addition to exchanging accommodation and food for help, we provide dedicated farmland, and buy the agricultural products grown on that land at a fair price as a form of support for starting farming and becoming independent.
Over 20 people have moved to Tokushima or started farming in their hometowns through this.
Like how Tsukuyomi Farm itself is a farm x greengrocer, we pursue the possibilities of agriculture through "half-farming, half-X" initiatives, where people like half-farmer, half-web designer, writer, marketer, traveling chef, YouTuber, etc. gather and engage in various undertakings.
Regenerative agriculture has a truly great potential to solve agricultural challenges.
We encourage you to experience that potential firsthand.
Unfortunately, our local area is aging, and vacant houses are increasing. Though still a small endeavor, our dream is to utilize those increasing vacant houses, not simply reject technology, and create an international free agricultural city - a community like Auroville in India where sustainable agriculture is practiced and diverse people including foreigners interact and support each other.
Please lend us your strength as one small step towards that!
Let's enjoy it together!
