WE ARE IN URGENT NEED OF WWOOFers!
We (Tatsuya and Sho) inherited 1ha(2.5acre) of mountain field and an old Japanese traditional house last year in Shizuoka, where we live with our daughter Mon(age3) and a black cat. We are planning to reproduce field and orchard in organic way to grow vegetables, and to renovate an old house and a guest house with natural materials.

We finished a big honeymoon (2015~2017 around the world) and came back to Japan.
During 2years honeymoon, we did Workaway / WWOOFing in Japan, U.S, Spain, Germany and Morocco.
we met various kinds of people and shared stories with them.
We saw how people live, what people believe.
And this time, we would like to share the experience in our place.

WE ARE IN URGENT NEED OF WWOOFers!
Dear WWOOFers,

For the last 5 years, we have been working to fulfill our dream of creating a beautiful pocket in the world, filled with art, music, nature, delicious food, and laughter holding it all together.

We have built Yusu no Ki all from scratch, and everyday it is getting closer to our dream. Artists and musicians regularly pass through and stay with us, our retaurant is steadily gaining in popularity and it is all thanks to the help of WWOOF.

We want to share the music and culture of Japan with people from all over the world, and love to learn. The work we have been doing has ranged from wooden decks to exposed wood ceilings to cutting tiles and shaping glass, building furniture and shaping our home and our space to fit into the nature around us.

Our restaurant hangs over a small lazy river and we are surrounded by forest and hills on all sides.

At the moment, we are involved in trying to meld the classical Japanese style of architecture with the Grecian style, focusing on using shape and color and contrast to live in visual and physical harmony with the beauty around us.

Work here is challenging, but we are all trying to learn! Come learn and build and laugh and make mistakes with us! We are waiting to hear from you. (^o^)/
ps;Dear wwoofer,
I had an abstract and malicious comment on a woman of an American couple before and I want new women to understand this wonderful thing of Tokonomi. While ladies stay, we guarantee to live meaningfully. A woman who transmits goodness of shinobi is necessary now. To take a misunderstanding. !!

Sincerely,
“I can speak only a little English. I didn’t write this text but my ex-WWOOFers helped it for me.”If you like Japanese culture or Japanese cuisine, please come. Kousei&rieko

Moreover, I have plan to make the Tiny House by self-build and Complete Sun-Dried Salt also in this season.

Please participate together if interested in natural cultivation, parmaculture, life of Satoyama, and reliable&safe food. It doesn't matter for a short or long term woofing. Thank you.

WE ARE IN URGENT NEED OF WWOOFers!
For foreign guests, we kindly ask that you have at least a beginner-level ability in spoken Japanese.

We are truly grateful that, just like last year, many WWOOFers joined us and contributed to our warm, family-like atmosphere. At our place, you can enjoy relaxing moments together, experience natural farming and organic vegetable cultivation, and take part in rewarding activities such as fieldwork and chopping firewood. In addition, you’ll get to enjoy delicious homemade treats like ohagi (sweet rice cakes), chestnut paste, sweet potatoes, and freshly baked bread!

We also proudly recommend sightseeing in our area. Nara Prefecture has the highest number of World Heritage Sites in Japan! Famous spots such as Todai-ji Temple, Nara Park, Kasuga Taisha Shrine, Horyu-ji Temple, Mt. Yoshino, and Yakushi-ji Temple are all within about one hour by train. Moreover, both Osaka and Kyoto can be reached in about one hour by car or train, making day trips easy and convenient. On your days off, you’ll have plenty of opportunities for enjoyable sightseeing.

Our family—both adults and children—loves to talk, and we always look forward to chatting with WWOOFers from around the world.

We also run an NPO (nonprofit organization) that provides independence support for young people, including those who are not attending school (such as children with developmental challenges) and those experiencing social withdrawal. If you are interested in youth or disability support, we would be happy to share various information and experiences with you.

A small notice: as an NPO, we manage our schedule carefully to support everyone involved. Once we accept a WWOOFer, we make a firm plan for activities. Therefore, we kindly ask that you avoid sudden cancellations after confirming your visit. Of course, if unavoidable circumstances arise, please contact us—we will do our best to adjust.

Once again, for foreign participants, please note that basic Japanese conversation skills are required.

If you have any concerns, health conditions, or disabilities that may limit your ability to participate in some activities, please let us know in advance. We will consider your situation and do our best to make accommodations.

We have been WWOOF hosts for 14 years, and our organization has been active for over 30 years. Over the years, we have been blessed with many wonderful encounters and exchanges. We look forward to continuing these joyful experiences with new friends in the future.

If you are interested, please feel free to send us a message—we’d love to hear from you!

I live in the middle of Japan. A big town nearby is Nagoya. It is convenient to go anywhere in Japan. Would you like to grow and study fruits and vegetables? Fruits are mainly grapes. We cultivate 20 kinds of Japanese vegetables per year. Why do not you interact with local people and experience Japanese culture and customs?

Kagoshima
WE ARE IN URGENT NEED OF WWOOFers!
(Updated February 28th)
Since February 14th, we have safely resumed operations. Thank you for your continued support.

① Growing citrus seedlings, as well as preparing for transplanting and grafting
② Harvesting and charcoal making at the planned construction site
③ Weeding around the facilities
④ Maintaining the vegetable garden
⑤ Collecting garden stones and driftwood (from the beach or riverside)
⑥ Creating parking lots (on both the main island and Kakeroma Island)
⑦ Creating a 'garden' for an old folk house, and so on…

On the Ōshima side, in two well-maintained apartments on the third floor (top floor), there are two bunk beds in each of the two rooms, and from the windows or balconies, you can view the Ōshima Strait and Kakeromajima Island. If staying on the Kakeroma side, beds are set up in an old house undergoing renovation (over 50 years old). The planned site for the free school is along the coast, away from the village, and since the land has already been prepared, it is also possible to camp in tents there. There is a swimming-friendly beach right in front. It was okay to swim in the sea without a wetsuit on 12/22 too! Both on the Amami Ōshima side and the Kakeromajima side, accommodation is generally possible for up to four people; however, since I am inexperienced as a host, please consult with us if your group has three or more people, and we will consider each situation individually. Please note that until the main building of the free school is completed, I, a man, will be the only one involved in the project. Please understand any inconveniences or lifestyle adjustments that may result from this during your stay.

If you’re even a little interested, please start by contacting us via message. We, of course, decline requests for an immediate 'connection,' but as long as you’re someone who can communicate properly, I am currently able to accommodate all year round. Also, plans have been made to build the main building for the free school, and preparations for that will keep us busy. If you’re interested in that area, I might ask for any help you can provide.

For those wishing to participate as WWOOFers with us, please make sure to read not only the 'Acceptance Status' but also the 'Host List.' We often have trouble with messages from foreigners that, if put positively, are 'friendly,' but, if put negatively, are 'rude.' Every time, we’ve communicated including giving advice, but we often encounter situations where questions are not answered, there’s no thanks or apology, or the conversation ends abruptly without a response. Considering the waste of taking time out of our busy schedule and the sense of futility after these exchanges, if we determine that someone has not written the necessary information or clearly hasn’t read the requirements, we have decided to send a 'one-time refusal' reply. Please be aware of this, especially for foreigners, and kindly understand our approach. Thank you for your cooperation!

Additional Note (10/28)
At this point, I have received messages from 11 people of foreign nationality, but there are too many who do not read my acceptance guidelines or cannot follow WWOOF Japan's rules. Also, even when I reply regarding these deficiencies, only a few respond properly. Due to such circumstances, I have decided to decline messages from foreigners who cannot speak Japanese (below beginner level) for the time being. From the standpoint of international exchange, this goes against the spirit of WWOOF, and it is very regrettable... but please understand the feelings of disappointment and emptiness that come from continuously having to respond to unnecessary messages amidst a busy daily schedule. Thank you for your understanding.

Postscript (12/5)
Lastly, this concerns privacy, but as a condition for Woofing activities, we will check whether you have received the aforementioned vaccinations before the activities. The number of doctors in remote island areas is very limited, and there are only a few hospital beds on the island. Please proceed with messages and exchanges with this understanding.

Tokushima
WE ARE IN URGENT NEED OF WWOOFers!
Regenerative agriculture is gradually becoming known through the practices of companies like Patagonia, but there are still very few people practicing it in Japan.
Tsukuyomi Farm had been experimenting with techniques like no-till farming, intercropping, and organic cultivation for 20 years before the term "regenerative agriculture" even existed.
In addition to agricultural techniques, we have also expanded the regenerative mindset and conducted various experiments.
Similar to the WWOOF system, in addition to exchanging accommodation and food for help, we provide dedicated farmland, and buy the agricultural products grown on that land at a fair price as a form of support for starting farming and becoming independent.
Over 20 people have moved to Tokushima or started farming in their hometowns through this.
Like how Tsukuyomi Farm itself is a farm x greengrocer, we pursue the possibilities of agriculture through "half-farming, half-X" initiatives, where people like half-farmer, half-web designer, writer, marketer, traveling chef, YouTuber, etc. gather and engage in various undertakings.
Regenerative agriculture has a truly great potential to solve agricultural challenges.
We encourage you to experience that potential firsthand.
Unfortunately, our local area is aging, and vacant houses are increasing. Though still a small endeavor, our dream is to utilize those increasing vacant houses, not simply reject technology, and create an international free agricultural city - a community like Auroville in India where sustainable agriculture is practiced and diverse people including foreigners interact and support each other.
Please lend us your strength as one small step towards that!
Let's enjoy it together!

We operate a pasture on the hill. Why not enjoy nature starting with a morning cattle drive? We are also building an animal park. If you are interested, please contact us. We are looking for people to stay for 2 weeks to 1 month. This is on top of a mountain, so there are a lot of insects and wild animals. If you don't like insects or natural environments, this is not for you. Please refrain from coming. However, we believe that this is a very good environment for those who are used to natural environments, have experience in farm work, and like animals. We look forward to meeting you.Thank you.

WE ARE IN URGENT NEED OF WWOOFers!
The 2025 admission period has ended.
In 2026, we will start accepting wwoofers from mid-April.

We are accepting applications in units of about one week to one month in duration, but if you would like to experience and learn a lot about Nagano Azumino, agricultural life, guesthouses, and town planning, please feel free to contact us if you would like to stay longer than that.

I'm engaged in farming and running a guesthouse that we renovated with our friends from a 100 year old house. Guests from outside come to Azumino, and local Azumino friends also come and go, making it an inn for encounters and experiences.

If you are interested in the Half Farmer, Half X lifestyle, want to start an agricultural lifestyle or a guesthouse, or are motivated to create a community, please come to WWOOF.

I think this will also be a good learning opportunity for young people who will be school teachers or other people who deal with children in the future. This is because our guests are mainly families raising children. Through WWOOF, they will be able to talk with children and their parents.

In addition, I am also a member of the Azumino City Council. It's an interesting multiplication of various factors: community, agricultural life, guesthouse, and politics.

We accept anyone who wants to come to our guesthouse as long as there are vacancies, but we appreciate people who like to cook. I would like you to make simple vegetable home cooking to serve at the inn. (*Not required)

There are six of us in our family, but we live in a house separate from the guesthouse. Usually it is me (male) and the inn staff (2 males and 1 female) who are in contact with the woofer. The woofer will have a room in a shared house near the guesthouse.

We will be accepting the following students this year.

(1) From about late March. Spring & Golden Week (GW), etc.
Pruning and management of blueberries, planting potatoes, etc.
The main work during GW will be guesthouse management.
Beautification, room preparation, food preparation assistance, etc.
It is busy, but I look forward to interacting with the various guests who come every day.
In between, I plant seeds of egoma (sesame).
Apple blossoms are in full bloom around this time of year and it is very beautiful.

(2) Late May to mid-July
Finally, the summer farming season is upon us.
Rice cultivation (planting at the end of May, releasing rice paddies to the air in early June, weeding in June, etc.)
Planting of summer vegetables, egoma, soybeans, etc.
Harvesting golden wheat fields reminiscent of Nausicaa.
Blueberry harvesting and picking experience acceptance from July.

(iii) Late July to late August
This is the summer guesthouse busy season. The main work is to manage the inn.
Our job is to bring guest families and children to play in the river (bring your swimsuits!) and dig potatoes.
Room preparation and food preparation assistance.

4) Late September to early November
This is the busy fall harvest farming season.
Harvesting and sorting rice, egoma, buckwheat noodles, soybeans, etc.

Points to keep in mind
This is a half-farmer, half-community inn that runs a guesthouse while living an agricultural lifestyle. People who are thinking about Half Farmer, Half X lifestyle, farm life, guesthouse management in the future, people who want to move to rural areas or countryside, and people who want to have a healthy diet eating fresh vegetables are welcome to come.
We have a family house just a 5-minute walk from the inn, where I live with my grandparents and my wife. The children have grown up and live in their own places. We also look forward to getting to know the old-fashioned father and the mother who can do anything. Our wife has many same-sex admirers.

If you like to cook, we would like you to help us prepare the food at the inn. Simple home cooking using home-grown, pesticide-free fresh vegetables.
Cooking is not an essential part of Woof's job.
We enjoy meeting and interacting with inn guests and local friends who come in and out of our home. We also feature various events such as live music and cafes. Let's create and enjoy events together.
There are many WOOF host farms in Azumino. Why don't you try hopping from one to another? (Laughs)

We look forward to meeting woofers with whom we can build a lifelong relationship.
Please do not hesitate to contact us. Please feel free to contact us.

WE ARE IN URGENT NEED OF WWOOFers!
We are looking for women who can come between June 3 and 10, or on or after June 21.
Me and my wife started our new life as a farmer by reclaiming waste land near Mt. Iwaki 21years ago. Our first year of reclamation of this land we lived without electricity. First we put a bridge on creek, made a road and built our house. And now we are delivering our natural farming vegetables to our customers every week. Our vegetables are all pure bred varieties. And with these vegetables, mushrooms, and our free range chickens we are eating pretty much self-sufficiently.
We finish work at 3:30 pm every day.
We are looking forward to share our experience with you. So feel free to send message to us.
