We are committed to the preservation and sustainable use of the Yonaguni ponies, a rare native Japanese breed. We offer riding and animal-assisted activities that allow children, people with disabilities, local residents, and visitors to interact safely with the horses.

Much of the daily work here consists of routine, hands-on tasks. These include feeding the horses in the morning and evening, removing manure, cleaning, cutting and gathering grass, and maintaining the facilities. ponies require care every day, regardless of the weather. Some tasks must be done in hot or rainy conditions, so both physical and mental stamina are necessary. You may also be asked to assist with our riding programs, but you will not necessarily have the opportunity to ride.

Although the work can be physically demanding, the greatest attraction of WWOOFing here is the opportunity to experience daily life with ponies always nearby. During your free time, you are welcome to spend as much time as you like observing the horses in the pasture. Living here gives you the chance to gradually learn about their individual personalities, their relationships with one another, and how their behavior changes with the time of day and the weather. We hope you will enjoy an experience that goes beyond riding: living alongside the horses, caring for them, and gradually building a relationship with them.

We value reliability more than extensive experience. We welcome people who are punctual, keep their commitments, ask questions when they are unsure, and respect the way we work at the farm. If you are unwell, encounter a problem, or wish to change your schedule, please speak with us as early as possible. Personal activities such as sightseeing should be planned for your agreed days off.

This is primarily an independent living arrangement. You will generally prepare your own meals, and this is not a homestay-style WWOOF experience where you eat with the host or staff every day. Of course, there will be opportunities to interact naturally with our staff and local children through daily life and activities.

This experience is best suited to people who can appreciate some inconvenience and an environment that is still a work in progress, rather than those seeking a fully organized tourist experience. We are looking for people who can take care of themselves, first learn and respect how things are done here, and then work with us to make thoughtful improvements. This experience is not suitable for people who are uncomfortable with animals or insects, dislike physical work that involves sweating, or find repetitive tasks difficult.

As a general rule, we prefer WWOOFers who can stay for at least three weeks, and ideally for about one month. The first week is considered a trial period for both the WWOOFer and the host to make sure that the arrangement is a good fit.
