We are a family-run Buddhist temple in the beautiful mountains of Yoshino, Nara.
Besides caring for the temple, we maintain bamboo forests, gardens, vegetable fields, and satoyama (traditional rural woodlands). We also prepare for temple ceremonies and operate a small temple lodging (shukubo).
Every season brings different projects, so there is always something new to experience. We enjoy sharing Japanese rural life and culture with people from around the world.

Organic Lifestyle
We have an organic attitude of sorts, but we do not go out of our way to be organic or alternative, rather, we do what suits us at the time
Example of Lifestyle (English)
We live at a Buddhist temple in the mountains of Yoshino, Nara.
We compost our kitchen waste, and the manure from our donkey and goats is used to enrich our vegetable garden. We also try to make good use of natural resources such as bamboo, wood, and fallen leaves whenever possible.
We are not strictly organic, but we value living in harmony with nature and doing our best to reduce our environmental impact.
