WE ARE ACCEPTING WWOOFers
９月の事業スタートに向けた用事なども増えていますが…また奄美大島からは完全撤退をすることで、一時的に住環境は大きく下がりますが、受け入れも再開いたしました。台風シーズンの真っ只中ということで（先々週も今週も来週？も加計呂麻行きのフェリーは数日間欠航）、この台風への対策もまた島生活の一部であると考え、最悪の天候では島に渡らない（渡れない）との選択肢を考慮しての来島をご検討いただけたらと思っております。
またフリースクールの準備が本格的になりましたら、ホストからウーファーへの連絡というイレギュラーな形でのメッセージも考えています。立ち上げ時に有用な経験や資格のある方へです。その際には「同じ文章ばアマクマ（あちこち）送ってるんだろうが～」（島くとぅば）とは言わずに、目を通して返信いただけましたら幸いです。
①柑橘系苗の栽培、および植替えや接ぎ木の準備、②建築予定地での収穫や炭づくり等、③施設まわりの草払い、④家庭菜園の整備、⑤庭石、流木集め（海岸や河原から）、⑥駐車場づくり、⑦古民家の“お庭”づくり、等々…です。
加計呂麻側に泊まる場合は改修中の古民家（築50年以上）にベッドは入れてあります。フリースクールの建築予定地は集落からはずれた海岸沿いにあり、造成はすでに終わっているため、この場所でのテント泊も可能です。ここなら泳げる海岸は目の前です（12/22もウェットなしで海水浴OKでした！)。一応４名までは宿泊可能ですが、ホスト経験も未熟という状況につき、３名以上のグループの場合はご相談ください、その都度検討いたします。なおフリースクール母屋の建築が済むまでは、事業にかかわるのは男性である私一人になります。そのことによる宿泊時の不便さや生活様式についてはご了承ください。

最後にプライバシーにかかる内容となりますが、ウーファ活動の条件として、活動の前には例の予防接種の有無を確認させていただきます。離島地域にて医者の人数はごく少数に限られており、また島内の入院用ベッド数も若干数しかありません。ご理解の上でメッセージややりとりにお進みください。

While we have more tasks to handle in preparation for our September launch, we have also resumed accepting guests, although our living conditions will temporarily deteriorate significantly due to our complete withdrawal from Amami Oshima. Given that we are in the middle of typhoon season (the ferry to Kakeroma has been cancelled for several days this week, last week, and next week?), we consider typhoon preparedness to be part of island life. Therefore, we ask that you consider the option of not traveling to the island (or being unable to travel) in the worst weather conditions when planning your visit.
Furthermore, once preparations for the free school are in full swing, we are considering sending messages to WWOOFers in an irregular format, from the hosts. These messages are intended for those with useful experience or qualifications during the startup phase. In that case, please read and reply, rather than saying, "You're sending the same message everywhere!" (as they say in Amami Oshima dialect).
The tasks include: ① cultivating citrus seedlings and preparing for transplanting and grafting, ② harvesting and making charcoal at the construction site, ③ clearing weeds around the facility, ④ maintaining the vegetable garden, ⑤ collecting garden stones and driftwood (from the coast and riverbanks), ⑥ building a parking lot, ⑦ creating a garden for the old farmhouse, etc.
If you are staying on the Kakeroma Island side, beds have been placed in the old farmhouse (over 50 years old) that is currently under renovation. The planned construction site for the free school is on the coast away from the village, and since the land development is already complete, tent camping is also possible at this location. There is a beach where you can swim right in front of you (it was OK to swim without a wetsuit on December 22nd!). While it can accommodate up to four people, as I am still inexperienced as a host, please consult with me if you are a group of three or more; I will consider it on a case-by-case basis. Please note that until the main building of the free school is completed, I, a male, will be the only one involved in the project. Please understand that this may result in some inconveniences during your stay and changes in lifestyle.
If you're even slightly interested, please contact us via message first. We will, of course, decline any requests for immediate "connections," but we are currently accepting people year-round who can communicate properly. Also, we have plans to build a main building for our free school, and we are now busy with preparations for that. If you are interested in that area, we may ask for your help.

There are very few doctors in this remote island area, and only a limited number of hospital beds on the island. Please understand this before proceeding with messages or communication.
