一緒に私達の生活を経験していただける方大歓迎。今の時期はヤギの搾乳、畑仕事、古民家の改装、ヤギ小屋修復など作業が山積みです!お手伝いさん絶賛大募集中!
We are happy to welcome people to stay with us , share our life routine . In this particularly season , we urgent need help in goats`s milking, farming , DIY reforming old kominka and run our guest house. Also cooking staff , everybody interesting in baking, cooking and cakes
We raise goats and make artisanal Italian cheese in the mountains above Tanabe city. We’d love to welcome WWOOFERs to help raise happy goats and make delicious cheese. We also have our guesthouse and some renovation projects underway
Usual daily schedule:
Morning : cut fresh wild grasses and herbs and bring to the goats
Milk goats and clean goat house
Return to the cheese workshop, pasteurise milk and start making cheese
Break for lunch and nap
Afternoon: cut grass again for goat feed. Prepare goat house for night time and return goats to their pens
Other projects:
Giovanni is an Italian chef with experience in restaurants in Italy and London. Our former restaurant in Tanabe was featured in the Michelin guide and we do a fun ‘chefs table’ dining experience at our guesthouse. WWOOFers can help with the guesthouse and we are happy to share and teach about local seasonal ingredients and Italian cuisine!
Goat pen renovation
As our flock grows, we need to renovate, expand and improve the existing goat pen.
Cafe renovation
We are currently renovating a cafe next to the WWOFer house and cheese laboratory, with expected opening in 2027
WWOOFer Accom
WWOOFers stay in a renovated Japanese house separate to our main house. If you’re lucky to have the upstairs room, you can enjoy sweeping ocean and mountain views as you wake up
Wakayama
Wakayama has the UNESCO heritage listed Kumano Kodo hiking pilgrimage trail amongst beautiful mountains, and famous grand shrines. We are not far from Shirahama beach, and Tanabe station gives access to many interesting places in Wakayama. We are not served by public transport, we can drop you somewhere on days off, and having an international drivers permit is a plus!
Our place suits those interested in animal care, and who enjoy physical work in nature. Those curious about traditional Japanese building and artisanal cheese and cuisine are very welcome too. We look forward to meeting you! ‘
