One part of our work is organic

We are alternative people, and live an organic mentality

We do not go for fast foods; we cook most of our meals at home with as much home-grown or organic ingredients as possible.

Although we`ve been farming for more than 20 years, we still wish to gain various knowledge and skills.

We don`t smoke.

  • General diet including meat and fish
  • We put great effort into how to cook and what to eat
  • Meal times are irregular
  • Our own grown vegetables generally
  • We always cook homemade meals
  • We never eat fast food such as McDonald’s and KFC, etc.

We do not drink at all. However if WWOOFers want to drink, they can bring their own drink but it has to be a little amount and of course it must not interfere with WWOOFing

No, nobody smokes

  • In the mountains
  • Near a lake
  • Near a river
  • Very quiet

Our home and our workplace are situated at the same place or very close to each other and so the atmosphere stated pertains to both our home and our workplace

We live in a small log house that we built ourselves with a forest just right behind. There`s also a small creek running through it.

We are closely surrounded by hills, trees, fields and the occasional wild forest animals that may pay a visit.

You`ll be able to enjoy a close-up experience of nature.

We have 7 sled dogs.

They are not pets, but raised as working animals.
Don`t worry, they`re friendly to everyone.

Bahasa Indonesia - Elementary level

More than 23 years ago, my spouse and I met in Alaska. From there, we got married and decided to start our lives together in the world of agriculture.

We made use of skills and knowledge gained from Alaskan natives in our lifestyle be it hunting, farming, or growing organic vegetables. As much as possible, we aim to live a lifestyle sustained by the abundant beauty of nature that surrounds us.
As we enjoy up to six months of snowy winter here in this part of Hokkaido, our work for the rest of the year are below.
A lot of snow and we bild the green house, we plant many kind of seeds.

Seeding, planting, take care of the vegetables, and start of the farming.

Seeding of organic farm vegetables. Picking wild forest vegetables.

Weeding. General plant care and farm management. Packing and shipping produce. Harvesting work begins little by little.

Harvesting begins. The night skies are filled with twinkling stars. This is the best season for delicious tomatoes!
Now only 8/19~8/27 we acceptable.

Sept. till Nov.
Harvesting continues as fall approaches. Nature will surprise you with the stunning beauty of its changing seasons.

In October we are welcome wwoofers!

Horokanai Town may seem a little out of the way from bigger cities in Hokkaido, but being surrounded by wonderful nature everyday could be well worth it. There are hills, forests, blue skies and beautiful nature all around us. We hope to share it with you.
