Our pension is found in the northern area of Honshu. Though there are many surrounding ski and snowboard resorts, Appi Kogen is basically in our front yard!

Appi Kogen is an all season resort with great activities to partake in throughout every season. Whether it be Winter, Spring, Fall, or Summer, you are bound to have a great time. During the winter, Appi Kogen is amazing for people active in snow sports. The atmosphere is perfect; from staff to guests, slopes to home, it doesn't get much better. Also, while wwoofing at our pension, you will recieve a season pass so you can enjoy the mountain during all the free time you have.

Come the spring season, the sun starts shining, and the fun only continues! Aside from skiing and snowboarding, many more outdoor actvities become available. This area is truly a beautiful place all year-round. As everything begins to bloom, including the many sakura (cherry blossoms), an array of color can be seen everywhere. Hiking and bike riding is a great way to pass the time here if you would like to take some time off from your skis or snowboard.

Throughout summer, there is no skiing or snowboarding at Appi Kogen but they do offer many outdoor adventure opportunities. I would say that the summers here never get too hot, in comparrison with the rest of Japan, so you will always find yourself nice and comfortable. Appi also has a beautiful golf course which is definitely worth a visit or two when your up for good game.

Once fall comes around, and everyone is getting ready for another winter season, we truly just enjoy the nature that surrounds us. It's a relaxing transition into yet another fun-filled winter.
