We have an organic attitude of sorts, but we do not go out of our way to be organic or alternative, rather, we do what suits us at the time

  • The first 1 to 3 days will be a trial period. If we feel that the WWOOFer is not suited to our place, the activities we do and the people we are, then we ask them to leave

Our region is Urushi (Japanese lacquerware) industry village.
We can show you Japanese traditional beautiful work of Urushi here cause here are many professionals.

Also here you can see traditional Japanese houses.
We can provide you during your off-time several experience of traditional Japanese tea ceremony, Urushi (lacquerware) making, farming, forest walking, etc.

Our traditional house needs repair and renovation, so DIY skill is really helpful for us.
Also your kind cooperation for other things is highly appreciated.

Through your task here, you can feel Japanese culture and customs, which will bring you deeper understanding of Japanese mentality.

If we have no task due to bad weather, we may offfer the day off. In such case, you can do sight seeing and whatever you like. You can stay without charge. Just meals not provided on the "Off-day".

Wanted! Anybody interested in DIY
Now we are doing renovation of old traditional house built 150yrs ago, we are welcome for people have a good skill of DIY!

This is a small village "Kawada", located in Sabae city, Fukui Pref.,
We have a Old Traditional Farmhouse B&B (bed and breakfast) "Wan de En" and small farm.

You can stay in rice-farming village also can try to make Japanese traditional lacquer work and join tea ceremony.

We would like you to help repair and renovation Japanese traditional house of mud wall. Traditional mud wall is made by mud, dry straw and bamboo.

Our spirit and concept of life comes from Japanese "Sado", i.e. Tea Ceremony.
"Treasure every encounter, for it will never recur."
