About half organic
No
We have an organic attitude of sorts, but we do not go out of our way to be organic or alternative, rather, we do what suits us at the time
At Harafield Cafe, we use vegetables and rice from local farmers for the dishes we serve at the buffet. In addition, we purchase vegetables that are not enough from farmers in the neighborhood that we sometimes help out with, or from local supermarkets. (Not all of the vegetables we use at the Hara Banda Cafe are organic.)

WE ARE IN URGENT NEED OF WWOOFers!

【Yufuin, Oita】We are looking for an urgent wwoofer to help our cafe for about 1 weeks from May 1st until May 7th or about 2 weeks after May 22nd, .

Our place is a cafe restaurant, not farm.
90% of WWOOFers activities are cooking, and the other 10% is to help our friend farmers or residents
. So those who are interested in cooking are most welcome here
!(You don't have to be good at cooking. But we need WWOOFers who love cooking or interested in it.)

In our kitchen, each of the woofers is not merely a cooking assistant, but a "chef" who can make any dish he or she wants to make every day (usually, by lunchtime each day, the wwoofers will make at least two or three dishes of their own choice). The dishes are then checked by our manager and placed on the buffet.

This is a bit of a long explanation, but what I want to say is that here, all the WWOOFer will be cooking for almost 3 hours every day, thinking up his own dishes, so if you like or are interested in cooking, this place will be a fun place, but if you are not, it's not a fun for you.
That is why I am explaining this at the beginning, just to be sure.

------------------------------------------------------------

We run a community restaurant called "Harappa Cafe" in a place called Yufuin in Oita Prefecture. Through food, people from all over the world and local residents, young and old, with and without disabilities, enjoy interacting with each other, and through this interaction, we are conducting various experimental efforts to create a relationship of mutual support in daily life.

<What you can get out of this place and what you may experience

You will have the opportunity to interact with local people of various generations from Yufuin, as they will participate in the event together or come to the café as customers.

You will be able to learn not only Japanese cuisine, but also various cuisines of different countries from other woofers and local people. I think it is also a great opportunity for those who are not so interested in cooking to learn how interesting it can be.

The program includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as leftovers from the dishes prepared for lunch, or if that is not available, we can prepare and eat our own favorite dishes. Vegetarian and vegan woofers are welcome.

We usually work mainly in the café, but if the farmers who share their vegetables with us in the café ask us to help, we sometimes take a break from the store or go to help the farmers after the café is closed.

The café space is usually open for woofers until about 10 pm. You can talk, drink, play games, and listen to music with people from different countries and locals.

Wifi is available in all cafes and shared houses for woofers, so you will never have a problem with internet access.

It is a place that aims to be the opposite of a place of economic efficiency, pursuit of profit, and competition, so if you are tired of such a lifestyle, this may be an opportunity to take a break and reevaluate your way of living.

-----------------------------------------------------

In our café, there is no price label on the dishes; customers decide what they want to pay and put it in the box after they eat. Also, there is no professional chef employed by the restaurant, and all staff members, including Woofer and others, volunteer to prepare the food. Each person is free to prepare and serve whatever dish he or she wishes to make that day.
This attempt to guarantee a basic meal for a healthy life in the community, regardless of the economic situation at the time, has been in place since January 2016 and is gradually taking root.
