When you are in a hurry, if you pay by PayPal, or credit card successfully, you will be automatically registered as a WWOOFer and be able to begin contacting Hosts right away with full membership capability.

WWOOF is an exchange.

Hosts give WWOOFers accommodation and all meals in return for the WWOOFer assisting the Host with the work they do. Hosts also give WWOOFers various knowledge and skills as result living and working with them, Japanese culture & Japanese language, introduction to the beauty of the local area, and other resources most of which is outlined in the Hosts Preview. There is no payment of money between Host and WWOOFer. WWOOFers need to pay just the yearly WWOOF membership fee, 5,500 yen. WWOOFing starts from sending an online application form.

WWOOF Japan members can get below the veneer of tourism and away from their daily grind, have genuine and meaningful experiences with people, society and culture, in all kinds of walks of life, in hundreds of locations all over Japan. Eat and think organically!

Hundreds of Hosts nationwide, adding new hosts weekly, representing a rich diversity of experience and adventure, examples of some of those being, organic farming, health and healing centers, pottery and arts, building and restoring traditional homesteads, organic restaurants, martial arts, dealing with animals, Japanese tea house, pension in ski fields area, eco village, brewing and production of foods, fishing, bee keeping, nature guide centre, centers for the environment, sea kayaking, and more. Some hosts are near cities such as Tokyo and some even in the centre of cities.

When you are ready, complete the Membership Application, decide how you want to pay your membership fee, and get started on the adventure of a lifetime!

Services provided by WWOOF Japan include, local WWOOF Japan membership, WWOOF memberships to other WWOOF groups in other countries, and optional extra support for Japanese WWOOFers going overseas called Kaigai Support.

WWOOF Japan membership gives each person:
* Your own WWOOFer Permit.
* Your own Username and Password protected access to the members section of our website.
* Online access to Hosts.
* Prompt email support from us at the WWOOF Japan office.
* Comprehsive details on each Host including; the kind of people they are, some content on their values and motivations, what they do, what kind of people they prefer as WWOOFers, whether or not they will meet WWOOFers at nearby public transport, if they are a farm what they grow and some info on how they grow it, what work WWOOFers will be asked to do, what WWOOFers should bring with them (ie. clothing, etc.), how long WWOOFers can stay, how many WWOOFers can stay simeltaneously, some information about the surrounding area, whether or not children are accepted, whether or not they accept WWOOFers all year round, whether or not English and / or Japanese language ability is necessary, whether or not they smoke, information on the food they eat, and more.

To be able to WWOOF in Japan, you must join WWOOF Japan. Each Host will require that each individual WWOOFer presents to them his or her appropriately completed WWOOFer Permit to show that each person is a current member of WWOOF Japan. It is through this simple system that we work to keep WWOOFing in Japan enjoyable and safe for both WWOOFers and Hosts.
